Hello dear members! We wanted to debate a theme with you guys, due to some recent events.
As you all may know (or should know) we have a no nudity/sexual works rule, as it's probably the rule more ignored since almost every week we have to reject works due to it's adult content.
These past days a specific member decided to leave the group after yet another work being rejected due to nudity, this person asked us, yet again , why was the work declined and when the obvious answer was given in a polite way guess what? We were insulted. We need to grow up, we are children and women to us need to use burkas (I would prefer turtlenecks but hey, burkas work too!:D).

Honestly I'm glad the person left the group, for two simple reasons:
- For several times sent work that disrespected the rules thus never even bothered to read them and doesn't care at all for the group and it's dynamic;
- Was disrespectful to the administrators, and I will never tolerate lack of respect for anyone here, either administrator, member or visitor;

This person asked us how could we be a group about Mystery and Magic without nudity, well let me explain clearly, when I created the group - together with my boyfriend -  we wanted a group about everything that we held dear in life, a group were people could connect nature with old religions and beliefs, a group that could be helpful for the members and to ourselves, were everyone and anyone could be a teacher and a student, sharing knowledge.
I don't condemn works with nudity or sexual themes, but honestly it is hard to like a work with it since it is overdone these days and most of the times it is done without taste, plain and cheap. So we decided from the beginning that we would be a family friendly group, thus not accepting adult themes.

So now you have heard us, we would like to hear you - what do you think about this rule? What is your opinion on this kind of works?

:new:
Thank you everyone for giving us your feedback, we weren't expecting so many replies since we have made a lot of journals about contests,facebook features,BOTW,etc that were ignored, I guess everyone gets spiced up with the nudes theme huh?

Since we got so many replies, and extensive ones too, we decided to update the journal so it's easier for us to clear some things up.
I asked the following questions - What do you think about this rule? What is your opinion on this kind of works?
We got answers about the group being  hypocritical, that everybody fucks, that basically we can't be a pagan group without nudity and sexuality.

First things first, we are not a fully pagan group, on our front page you can read:
"We're a group about everything that is mysterious and magical ! We accept works with themes from nature, mythology, medieval, folklore, music, paganism, shamanism, history, traditions, fantasy, etc."
As you all may notice paganism isn't the focal point but it is a part of the group.

Another thing that you also may know is that paganism doesn't fully revolve around sex, there is so much more to paganism than that and sadly it's way overlooked.
Other thing that we got from your replies, at least some of them, made us look like we were against nudity or sexuality on a personal matter, when we were talking about an art group.
We actually believe that everyone is free to do what they feel like with their own body, and that nobody has the right to judge, as long as that sexual freedom doesn't disturb others own liberty.

We did ask for your opinion as we wanted to hear what our members think, however we will not change the rule in a near future since we do believe we can have a beautiful group with as much magic and mystery as we have had these past two years, without nudity and focusing on the other side of things.
We have reached the 1,000 members mark with that rule and will stick with it for now. Yes there are many pagan groups with adult themes allowed and +18 folders, we are aware of that and we will be different on that point.
It will be a matter of respecting and being respected, every single one of our members accepted the rules when they asked to join us and, just like any other rule, it should be respected.

A little note, we asked the members opinion about a subject but we didn't ask for moderators of those opinions, so please don't go around replying to others and deciding what they should or shouldn't say, if people think the rules should be respected they are free to say so ;)

well I have to say I think the leaders of this group have in general misconstrued a good many responses as 'this is a pagan group so you should allow nudity' Instead of thinking for several moments that you were asking an opinion on a rule about nudity and this was the best area to give as example of where nudity would be far more helpful if it were artistic nudity allowed due to the fact of the subject matter in general.

Just because it's paganism doesn't mean it has to involve nudity, but it's one of the best examples where allowing artistic nudity would make the group far more inclusive to members which is why it has been used so excessively in terms of an example for opinions (which was what was asked for). 90% of the pieces that have been linked in one of these comments have ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with them, they are not 'sexual' and saying that those are taking this group down a 'bad path' seems a bit silly and immature.

Quite frankly you have the rule, I am fine with that, I just don't see the point in asking our opinions on the rule when the only ones you seem to be accepting are the ones that are agreeing with you 'because they get the journal entry'. It seems to me you wanted a bunch of people to rally around you and instead you opened a can of worms you weren't expecting and are stating that 'this group isn't a pagan group so your arguments are invalid' and expecting that to be acceptable when the pagan section is being used as a very thorough example of where Nudity would get more work and more attention without it being 'sexual' or 'pornographic' or taking the group down a 'bad path'.
